Drawbar Additive Synthesis Emulation ======================= The JV/XP synths have the versatility of combining four tones in each patch, and within a Performance, containing 16 patches, which contain a total of 64 tones. Quite a choice of additive synthesis possibilities can definitely be used from the internal waveforms (such as IB-046: Sine) to create "monstrous" layered keyboard combinations well worth exploring. Consider the Hammond Organ drawbar registration settings from many books that are avaialable for use as fertile grounds for creating a wide variety of sounds. I will use Stevens Irwin's excellent book "Dictionary of Hammond Organ Stops", Schmir Books, 1970 (ISBN 0-02-871110-6) for the following information. And of course the information can apply to ANY synth allowing individual control settings for it multitimbral parts. Fortunately the maximum Coarse Tuning range is +/- 48.
