Emulating a GM Environment in Performance Mode Essentially to recreate the "basic" effect/environment" of a GM/GS/XG synth in Performance Mode, create a User Performance "template" or TEMP Performance with the following parameters: 1) set each Part to an assigned MIDI Channel in a one to one relationship (e.g. Channel 1 to Part 1, Channel 2 to Part 2, etc) 2) set each Parts' EFX OUTPUT to MIX:127, Reverb to 127, and Chorus to 127. These are "master" Part levels, independent of the CC7, CC91, and CC93 controllers useable on each MIDI Channel. Under the EFX Send Levels for Reverb and Chorus, set both to 64. Set the Reverb Type to Hall2. For the Chorus Out setting, I recommend MIX or M+R. 3) select the PR-D/GM bank for each Part, and Patch 1 (GM: 001 Piano 1). 4) the Pitch Bend range should be set to +/- 2 for all Parts 5) "default" controller values should be: Modulation CC1 0 Volume CC7 100 Panning CC10 64 Expression CC11 127 Sustain/Hold1 CC64 0 Reverb CC91 40 Chorus CC93 0 Benjamin Tubb brtubb@cybertron.com http://www.cybertron.com/~brtubb
